Attention STEM aspiring aviators and creative minds! Get ready to showcase your skills and ingenuity in our Pope STEM Academy Foundation Paper Airplane Competition.

Use your STEM knowledge to deal with the principles of flight. When you are flying a paper airplane you are observing the interplay of competing forces that keep your airplane in the air and ultimately bring it to the ground. This includes:
   · Lift – the force that pushes air down so that the airplane rises up
   · Thrust – the force that propels the airplane forward
   · Drag – the force that works opposite of thrust and it slows your airplane down
   · Gravity – the force that will ultimately bring your paper airplane to the ground

Whether you're a seasoned paper plane pilot or a first-time flyer, this event promises fun, excitement, and a chance to win amazing prizes!

How to Participate:

Bring Your Plane: Create your paper airplane at home and bring it to the event.

Individual Challenges:
Ensure your plane complies with Rules below. You can enter up to 2 paper airplanes and with 1 per individual challenge.

Team Challenge: Team up to form a three person team and bring your favorite LEGO Minifigure. The Pope STEM academy will supply material and special rules for your build. The Team challenge will be the closing flight competition to see which Team’s Paper Airplane can safely carry their LEGO Minifigure the Longest Flight Distance and bring home victory to your Team!

Individual Categories
First Place: $30 gift card
Second Place: $10 gift card
Team Challenge
First Place: $90 (3x$30) gift cards
Second Place: $30 (3x$10) gift cards
